For Family Weekend, you might be looking a sophisticated outfit that you can wear out to dinner with your parents. This T-Bags tunic from Rebecca & Co. is 20% off this week for Chic Deac readers. Stop by to pick it up before next Thursday. After the discount, the tunic is $167. The lovely ladies at Rebecca's have paired it with black leggings, but it could easily go with black skinny jeans and heels.

Also, take note that Rebecca & Co.'s has extended hours this weekend just for you! They're open 10-6 on Friday and Saturday, and 11-4 on Sunday. You can find their store on Reynolda Road (across from the Children's Home) in a renovated bright pink gas station. If you haven't been to the store yet, it's one of the cutest in Winston.

Happy shopping, chic ones!

If Jackie O was a Chic Deac

Anthropologie's Learning Curve dress is fabulous. Amazing. Wonderful. It's also $250. We're not in the place to be dropping $250 on a dress, but we thought we'd share in case you are. And if you're not, then take a moment to dream alongside us.

Happy shopping (or dreaming), chic ones!

We couldn't resist letting these earrings wait until Monday. The bow is endearing and these are very different than anything we've ever seen. Check them out here on Etsy, before they're gone!

Tailgate and Game Viewing Prep

If there's anything men love on God's great earth, we all know it's tailgating. Football, beer and grilling out. What about this doesn't scream male bonding? Our last post for the men this week focuses on some items they might find useful for watching the game or tailgating. All of the items are from the Deacon Shop in Reynolda Village -- one of Chic Deac's favorite spots.

For your favorite stiff drink:

For chips and dip, or your burger:

These bowls are so festive and fun, we can't wait to put them in our house when we actually have one:

This is perfect for football season -- and the stands look as they should -- black and gold!

Tumblers with the WF logo -- very popular on campus:

The ultimate tailgating/picnic gear for any Wake Forest fan:

Enjoy watching the Deacs take on FSU this weekend. It's an afternoon game - meaning you get to sleep in and go out afterwards, which is the perfect combo in our opinion.

Thursday's at Rebecca & Co.

We mentioned earlier in the week that we have an exciting new weekly feature to go along with our Mondays at Monkee's series and here it is! Rebecca & Co., an adorable boutique on Reynolda Road, is teaming up with Chic Deac to bring you stylish black and gold options. One of the items they feature will be 20% off for the week following the original post.

Here is our first look from Rebecca & Co. We love this Michael Stars Relaxed Dolman shirt in black with skinny jeans for a dinner out or night on the town. This item is 20% off this week, originally priced at $54. Just say Chic Deac at the register to get your discount. The necklace in the picture is not on sale, but is a perfect way to add a Wake Forest touch to your look. At only $24, go for it!

Secondly, the lovely ladies of Rebecca & Co. were nice enough to send this sale tip into us. This dress, a Mark & James by Badgley Mishcka design, is on sale for 60% off - bringing the price down to $142. There is only ONE DRESS LEFT - it's a size two. Stop by and pick it up today!

Item of the Week - This One's for the Boys

In the spirit of men's week here on Chic Deac, our Item of the Week is for them. Dapper Duds is a tie company created by college students.

Looking for jobs in a post-collegiate world made them realize that the stuff that would get them the job (quality suits and ties) were actually very pricey, they were inspired to create quality, low-cost ties. The result is beautiful, and better yet, they specifically make them in school colors. One of the founding partners is Greg Jokl, a current Wake Forest student.

Three lucky Chic Deac readers will be winning ties next week - one of each of their signature styles. Check them out below and find out how to win the ties at the very bottom! The first style is the Signature Plaid. This tie is different than the usual tie seen out there in the world of work. It is available here on the Dapper Duds site.

The second is the wide stripe black and gold tie. It's classically styled and would be great for any tailgate. It can be found here on the Dapper Duds website.

Lastly, we really love the Dapper Stripe black and gold tie. This style is perfect for work and would look good on any man. Check it out here.

Now, how do you win one of these Dapper Duds ties for yourself or your man? Submit a picture of you wearing black and gold. It's super easy and you could get a free tie out of it! Send your entries to chicdeacstyle@gmail.com!

Monkee's Deal of the Week and Tailgate Picture Contest

1) Stop by Monkee's to take advantage of their Chic Deac Deal of the Week. 20% off of EMU boots when you mention Chic Deac.

2) Submit a picture of you wearing black and gold in order to win the gorgeous Southern Frock Date Night dress. Entries must be submitted to chicdeacstyle@gmail.com by tonight at midnight!

3) Buy this skirt from Southern Frock. It's not the item of the week, but it is so cute! It may be the end of September, but its 90 freaking degrees outside. Contact Rebecca Hinson, the WFU sales rep for more info on this look, which is on sale now!

Happy shopping, chic ones!

Real Men of Wake Forest

Today is part two of our week focusing on menswear here at Chic Deac. Check back tomorrow for our Item of the Week - a special gift for our male readers (or boyfriends/husbands/brothers of our female readers). Chic Deac took a visit to the Deacon Shop in Reynolda Village and found some especially Wake Forest-y looks for men.

We actually especially like these pants, but they've simply got to be worn on the right occasion by the right guy. Only a certain type of super preppy/fratty/metrosexual guy can pull off this kind of look. It just isn't for everyone - so ask a friend if you are the type of person who can pull it off.

We're loving the assortment of ties they have over there. Wear it to a tailgate (if you're that kind of tailgater) or the office. It's a simple and easy way to show your pride in Mother, So Dear.

Lastly, a word to the wise on sweater vests. They are appropriate in two occasions only: if you are over the age of 50 or playing golf. Worn off the golf course, this look ages people who are too young to wear it. But a Wake Forest polo? For any guy at any time.

Happy shopping, men of Wake Forest!

For the Man in Your Life

So we've been getting e-mails trickling in over the past few weeks about featuring menswear items. This has dumbfounded us a bit because we were (a) surprised that men read fashion blogs, (b) flattered that they cared about what they wore and (c) not sure what exactly to post about. This entire week will focus on menswear. On Wednesday, our item of the week will be for men and we're asking men to submit their best WFU pictures.

So to start the week off right, we wanted to pick one of our very favorite looks for men. This style is perfect as we're about to enter into some crisper fall days and you guys will need a great transition outfit. The basics are a yellow polo and jeans. It's simple, and it should be a staple in the closet of every Wake Forest male. Pick up the polo at Ralph Lauren and these jeans are from Gap.

Add a Wake Forest belt for an extra dash of school spirit. For $20, you could wear this belt over and over again to WFU sporting events.

This last item is really key to the look. Chic Deac has a theory that every man on the planet looks instantly more attractive if he wears a half-zip pullover. We're not sure what it is about this look that does us in, but ohhh man. Check out this basic black one from J.Crew and then wear it in front of the girl you like. Results are basically guaranteed.

Monkee Mondays

Chic Deac is super excited to announce two new features this week. On each Monday, we'll be focusing on a new item from Monkee's (a super cute and fun shop in Reynola Village if you haven't been yet). Chic Deac readers will receive an exclusive discount on that item for one week after the post.

Our first item from Monkee's comes just in time for fall. EMU boots are super comfy and warm - perfect for those chilly nights or studying in ZSR (does the air conditioning ever turn off???). The boots are sold in black and gold, which are seen on the feet of Hillary Duff. Normally priced at $179, EMU are 20% exclusively for Chic Deac readers. Stop in Monkee's sometime this week to buy these great boots!

Check back later today for our post on menswear, and remember to submit pictures of you wearing black and gold in order to win the Date Night Dress!

Chic Top

We love this top from Macy's for two reasons - it would be great for a nice dinner out and it's under $20. Pair it with a cute pencil skirt or some skinny jeans and flats -- then you'd be set for a great night.

Also --- have you seen our Item of the Week yet? It could be yours if you send us a picture of you wearing black and gold. E-mail submissions to chicdeacstyle@gmail.com.

Women's Wear at the Deacon Shop in Reynolda Village

Chic Deac recently took a trip over to the Deacon Shop in Reynolda Village to see what merchandise might be appealing to our readers. If you haven't been, the shop is quite the experience. We'll be posting over the next few weeks about some of our favorite things we found there, but we wanted to start with some women's wear. (Special sidenote: next week we will have daily posts for the gentlemen readers. We have heard you and will start blogging for you!)

The look (oh so proudly worn by this manikin) has some great transitional items that will carry you through on the warm days and crisp nights of fall. The first item we'll take a look at is that cable cord sweater tied over the neck. It comes in pink and white, with a cute little WF insignia. Here's a closeup:

Secondly, we are really liking the tweed bag next to her. It has all the right elements of a fall purse - dark, neutral colors in a heavier, warmer fabric. This would be perfect for an October or November game.

Happy shopping, chic ones!

Chic Deac Item of the Week - Southern Frock

Southern Frock, a company started by a Wake alum, has some amazingly beautiful clothes that are geared towards college aged women. We are loving several of their pieces, and we are lucky enough to be giving away one of them this week! The Date Night dress (in black) will be given to one lucky reader!

If you are interested in winning the Date Night dress, all you have to do is send us a picture. We want to see you wearing your black and gold - whether it be to class, the office or at a tailgate. To win, send your picture to chicdeacstyle@gmail.com!

Also, let it be noted that Wake Forest has its own sales rep, a senior named Rebecca Hinson. She recently hosted a trunk sale for some of her friends and is willing to host one for any Wake students. This would be a great event for a sorority or just some fun with friends!

Career Chic, Part Deux

A fabulous Chic Deac reader sent in a picture of another Target dress that would be something great to wear for the Career Fair. Check it out here for only $40!

If Jackie O Were a Chic Deac

This vintage dress is impeccable - and it looks like it came right out of Jackie O's closet. I love the Mary Jane pumps the model is wearing with it. It's on Etsy and it appears to be about a size 4. If that's your size, snatch up this look before it's too late.

Career Chic, Anyone?

Word on the street (the street being Facebook obviously) is that the Career Fair is happening tomorrow in Benson. For those of us in the job hunt, this is one place where you definitely don't want to show up in jeans and a tee. Check out this chic outfit we found for you to wear tomorrow.

Run over to Target and pick up this dress ASAP. Someone sent it in to Chic Deac last week (fashion tips always appreciated - chicdeacstyle@gmail.com) and we LOVE this look. It's affordable, but no one will know that you bought it at Target.

Secondly, take a look at these Madden Girl pumps. They're simple, but the patent leather gives them enough flair to put a special bounce in your step. For only $50, these will last you a while. And on top of it, they ship overnight for FREE. As in, have them in your campus box tomorrow morning.
See you there tomorrow!
