Edited to Add:
The lovely Joanna of Cup of Jo (our favorite favorite favorite blog)  posted this cute summer dress from Victoria's Secret today. We think our clutch and her dress would be a chic summer evening combo. They also have it available in black, but we say be brave - try the yellow!

Screamin Demon Nails?

OPI has a new nail polish that gives your nails a "shattered" look. We actually think it has a lot of potential and mixes things up from the usual polish. Maybe someone brave will rock the black and gold shattered look - it will at least match your tie dye shirt at basketball games?

Chic Deac Dorm Room

OMG CLASS OF 2015 - YOUR ROOM ASSIGNMENTS ARE AVAILABLE. We kid, but we also remember how excited we were to find out about this important development. We'll be giving out some advice this week on dorm room decor and showing you some chic items to inspire you as you get ready for Wake Forest.

Serena & Lilly's Marni Duvet Cover

Don't match with your roommate. Coordinate with your roommate. And yes, there is a difference.

Your bed is not just your bed. Your bed is also your couch, your dining room table, your (sometimes) study spot and more. Think about that before you buy the stark white comforter that you think will be super chic.

Scotch 3M wall tape will be your best friend when it comes to hanging pictures, bulletin boards and the like.

Under the bed storage is KEY to not feeling cramped in your room. Get some good boxes with wheels so that you can pull it out whenever you might need something.

Style Inspiration: Black Onyx

Black onyx is a beautiful gemstone and it's best accented by gold - leaving us with plenty of chic, Wake Forest themed jewelry. Here's some style inspiration for you this week:

Summer Loving

We are loving stripes this summer and while stripes have nothing to do with Grease, we just thought this would be a good place to interject some Olivia Newton John and John Travolta duet action to brighten up your Friday.

Thanks for allowing us to indulge in a favorite, but now on to the part you came here for: Cute summer stripes. We love both of these dresses which could be great over a bathing suit at the beach or paired with espadrilles for an evening look. The yellow stripes on the left are from Ann Taylor Loft and it's currently on sale for $45. The chevron look is from Roxy and is only $15. Get it while it's hot, chic ones!

Trend Alert: Sheer Polka Dots

ANNE HATHAWAY & ADAM SHULMAN photo | Anne Hathaway

Celebs have been rocking the sheer polka dot look a lot this summer. Anne Hathaway was spotted (forgive us for the bad pun) in Valentino at Haute Couture week in Paris, Kate Winslet at a recent premiere. Liv Tyler wore a Stella McCartney look at one of her events. We like the look in general but think we need to find a more wearable version for ourselves.

Thus, we found this cute dress from Urban Outfitters with a great back and more subtle polka dots on the skirt. This would be an awesome pick for a date function this fall. We're also debating about sheer tights with polka dots - obviously this decision can be made when it actually gets colder out.

Are you wearing sheer polka dots this summer, chic ones? If so, send in your cute looks to chicdeacstyle@gmail.com.

Back to School. Already? Really?

Maybe we're in summer denial, but we didn't think it was time for school supplies. Major retailer Target snapped us out of our summer haze. There's something exciting about buying new school supplies, but that shopper's high only takes you through the first day of class when the reality of your workload sets in. However, Chic Deac's technique has always been to buy special school supplies. Yes, we are entirely aware of how nerdy that sounds, but it makes school more fun when people are complimenting your notebook in November.

Our list of Special School Supplies:

Black and White Tote with Leather Straps (Good Straps are Crucial)
Bicycle Embossed Moleskin Notebook for the Whimsical Intellectual

Blouse vs. Dress

One time a guy asked Chic Deac what the difference was between a blouse and a dress. Chic Deac informed him that there was a big difference - mainly in that one would be entirely appropriate to wear by itself out in public and the other maybe not so much.

Men. Can. Be. So. Stupid.

We love the look of all three of these blouses. For any male readers, please tell your lady friends to wear them with shorts because blouse is actually just a name for a fancy shirt. The middle one reminds us of something Kate Moss would wear with skinny jeans and flats walking around the streets of London. Skinny jeans would be a great pairing with any of these shirts - if you can stand this god awful humidity. East coast summers are a KILLER!

Casual Summer Style

The black drawstring dress is a great look for summer. Dress it up with heels or make it casual with sandals. We highly recommend wearing with Ray-Bans if you want to be the definition of laid back summer chic.

The Matchbook Girl

Are you reading Matchbook Magazine? It's an online only magazine and we can't seem to get enough. Six issues in and we're addicted. It's like they can read our minds or something. For example, this Kate Spade necklace:

If you are wanting more than the monthly dose, follow Matchbook on Facebook or Twitter. They also have a fabulous blog called The Daily Spark. They are always asking fun questions and talking about the Matchbook Girl - which always describes us perfectly. It kind of ruins your sense of individualism, but who really cares when they are pointing you in the direction of such pretty things??

P.S. - Are you following Chic Deac on Facebook and Twitter
