Matchbook Mag brought these stylish tassel keychains to our attention. Gold, Beige or Black? These are some of Chic Deac's greatest philosophical questions to ponder.

Summer Scarf
Scarves aren't just for winter. We've been loving some of the colorful scarves we've seen in magazines lately, and went on a search for a Wake Foresty scarf. We ended up finding this great lightweight infinity scarf in a bright pattern - perfect with a tee, shorts and sandals.

Anthro Spring Looks
We're mainly looking at dresses because that's the best thing about spring. And remember a wise Chic Deac will always buy pretty spring dresses that make for suitable tailgate attire in the fall.

Celeb Chic: Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence
The Hunger Games have been all over the news lately with the first movie premiering this weekend and if you haven't read the book series, it's definitely worthy of being on your summer reading list. You might have thought that Chic Deac disappeared in the Hunger Games or something with the way this blog has been so empty lately. For that we apologize and promise to improve the frequency of posts.
Now we turn our attention to the stunning Jennifer Lawrence who plays the lead in the movies. She has been out and about lately doing the press junket and we've discovered that she is a big fan of black and gold as a combo. Check out some of her glam looks below if you are in need of some inspiration for a more formal event.
And our favorite, the Ralph Lauren look from the London premiere:

A Ghost on Tobacco Road
Wake Forest alum Matt Gallagher wrote a piece today about Skip Prosser, the Ghost on Tobacco Road. For those of you who aren't familiar with Skip's legacy, you should get familiar with him ASAP. He understood that his job as a coach at Wake Forest was to set high goals for his players on and off the court. His players adored him so much that they wanted to surpass his expectations with every part of their being.
We highly recommend his article. If you know about Skip's legacy, it never hurts to be reminded of what a great man he was. If you don't know about Skip's legacy, you should take advantage of the opportunity to become acquainted with him.
It is Chic Deac's hope that "we're going to be good again," but we're not sure we'll ever be blessed with another coach like Skip Prosser. Regardless, there is one thing Skip would have wanted for tonight: a full, loud and obnoxiously bright student section.

Miscellany Monday
Our thoughts are so jumbled on this Monday afternoon, that we are going to have to leave you with a smorgasboard of mini blog posts rather than one cohesive bit. Apologies for the randomness!
Rest in Peace, Whitney.

Casual Chic: Ankle Booties and Boyfriend Jeans
Lately we've been thinking about how we can wear some cute boyfriend jeans without looking too slouchy. After perusing some celebrity fashion websites, the answer clearly seems to be a chic pair of ankle booties. Frugal Fashionista had this great post on how to get Keri Russel's look in the photo above. We decided to give it a Wake Forest twist that's a little less severe for walking around campus. Our only black detail is in the infinity scarf from J.Crew and the incredible leather tote - the rest is lighter in color. The gray booties are leather and expensive (over $300), but there are plenty of imitations in suede or faux suede that you could snatch up. By the way, mustard and gray seems to be all the rage these days and we're loving the way those colors look together in this outfit. Links to all of the items in our outfit can be found below.

Colorful Skinny Jeans
Have you bought a pair of colorful skinny jeans yet? They are definitely IN. We love all of the bright greens, blues and reds in stores right now. This beautiful weather has us thinking ahead a few months and we think a bright yellow pair might be a nice alternative to white jeans on a summer evening. We found this pretty pair from Delia's and would love to wear them with a silky white top and colorful espadrilles.

Toms Ballet Flats
TOMS officially launched their collection of ballet flats for purchase and we adore them. There are lots of cute styles (like this pink suede pair), but we're also intrigued by the more modern style of canvas and burlap used on the Alessandra pair shown below.
What do you think chic readers? Will you be purchasing a pair or sticking with your regular TOMS?

Rain, Rain Go Away
And don't come again another day. Snow or sunshine only from now on out, please. At the special request of @WakeForest1834, we've put together a little extra post for today for some style inspiration on a rainy day.
A fabulous trench:
With more practical shoes:
Now in case you need practical and cost effective:
And a fun project to do with your leftover Mountain Weekend cooler paint, a DIY striped umbrella. Instructions can be found here.
Lastly, this umbrella is sold out, but we love it dearly. Why not make this yourself? Gold paint and a steady hand will do the trick. We love the whimsy of the falling gold raindrops.
All of these items and more can be found on our Pinterest "Rain, Rain Go Away" board. Are you on Pinterest yet? Follow Chic Deac and she'll follow you right back. Have a cozy day, chic ones!

DIY Lacy Gold Chain Necklace
Good news, y'all: Chic Deac is alive and well. Just had to take a mental break from posting while taking an actual break from Wake Forest. But we are back!
The first day of class is here and we're already looking for a craft project that will distract us from the mounds of homework that will surely pile up over the next few weeks. We found this adorable DIY lacy gold chain necklace on Pinterest and we are eager to try and replicate it. Who doesn't need a fabulous statement necklace on a budget?

For Your Girlfriend
We have some male readers. They won't admit it, but they are out there. This post is for those guys who need help finding a little something to impress their special lady friend this Christmas.
Some other tips:
Wrapping goes a long way, plus you can pay someone to do that for you. Stuffing the item in a plastic bag from your last trip to Lowe's does not count as wrapping.
When in doubt about clothing size, pick the smaller size.
Sometimes a great date is the perfect Christmas present. Maybe think about doing a nice dinner downtown followed by one of the following:
