Celeb Chic: Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence

The Hunger Games have been all over the news lately with the first movie premiering this weekend and if you haven't read the book series, it's definitely worthy of being on your summer reading list. You might have thought that Chic Deac disappeared in the Hunger Games or something with the way this blog has been so empty lately. For that we apologize and promise to improve the frequency of posts.

Now we turn our attention to the stunning Jennifer Lawrence who plays the lead in the movies. She has been out and about lately doing the press junket and we've discovered that she is a big fan of black and gold as a combo. Check out some of her glam looks below if you are in need of some inspiration for a more formal event.

And our favorite, the Ralph Lauren look from the London premiere:

A Ghost on Tobacco Road

Wake Forest alum Matt Gallagher wrote a piece today about Skip Prosser, the Ghost on Tobacco Road. For those of you who aren't familiar with Skip's legacy, you should get familiar with him ASAP. He understood that his job as a coach at Wake Forest was to set high goals for his players on and off the court. His players adored him so much that they wanted to surpass his expectations with every part of their being.

We highly recommend his article. If you know about Skip's legacy, it never hurts to be reminded of what a great man he was. If you don't know about Skip's legacy, you should take advantage of the opportunity to become acquainted with him.

It is Chic Deac's hope that "we're going to be good again," but we're not sure we'll ever be blessed with another coach like Skip Prosser. Regardless, there is one thing Skip would have wanted for tonight: a full, loud and obnoxiously bright student section.

Go Deacs. Beat Duke.

One of our favorite pictures of all time. What are the chances we can recreate it? Probably slim, but it's up to us. Put the homework, meetings and other false constraints on your time aside to be at the game tonight at 9pm.

P.S. - This is our 400th post and there is no one we would rather put to shame more in such a milestone than Duke.

Miscellany Monday

Our thoughts are so jumbled on this Monday afternoon, that we are going to have to leave you with a smorgasboard of mini blog posts rather than one cohesive bit. Apologies for the randomness!

Rest in Peace, Whitney.

Carrie rocking the black and gold at the Grammy awards.

These shoes from the Ann Taylor Summer Collection are to die for ... so delicate and stylish.

Morse Code Love necklace is adorable and subtle - no over the top cheesiness here.

Repurpose an old VHS case as a picture frame/organizer. Perfect for a dorm room.
