Alright, Class of 2014 - here is another bedroom decorating idea. The color scheme (obviously) is a black and butter yellow. I started with inspiration from some Springmaid bedding from Target. It's simple and bright, which means it will cheer up your living space without adding too much clutter.
My favorite accent of this bedding is the Daisy pillow embroidery. Just like ruffles and stitched-on flowers are on every shirt at the mall, you can find this adorable detail on bedding as well. The Target website has the bedding on sale this week (for less than $70!). It says the pillow is out of stock, but I saw one in the store just the other day.
The other pieces here are both from Pottery Barn Teen. The dry erase board is actually a wall decal (meaning it will stick to the wall easily, without the mess of trying to hang something up). Think about how helpful this will be - knowing when your homework is due, who you're meeting up with for lunch and when the big game is! The study lamp is also very cute - it's always nice to have a little touch of polka dots.
Speaking of polka dots - check out this amazing border from PB Teen. Getting a few rolls of this would make your room feel so much homier. You could put it mid-level, like a chair rail, or at the top of the room. This is a great way to tie the entire room together.
I adore these monogram initial pillows. Just imagine the black and white one atop the daisy bedding. It would be perfect!
Lastly, I think these wire letters are an incredible dorm room decoration.
Hanging up your entire name might be a bit much, so think about getting one and putting it above your bed. At $15, this is an awesome and cheap way to warm up your blank walls. This is a creative way to display pictures and add another interesting element to your new room!
