Reynolda Film Festival

Chic Deac is going to this year's Reynolda Film Festival. Are you? We're definitely going to see Jason Reitman (director of Juno and Thank You for Smoking) in Wait Chapel on Saturday night and we'll probably be seeking refuge from this rainy weather by checking out some of the other films in the lineup. So what to wear for the RFF? We think keeping it dressy casual will help you stand out ... wearing a regular ole outfit will just be boring. This is the closest Wake Forest gets to a Hollywood red carpet, after all. Our pick for a Reynolda Film Festival look is above. Obsession best describes our feelings towards that bracelet.

Thanks to the organizers of this amazing event. Can't wait to see the product of your hard work!

Rain, Rain Go Away -

So Chic Deac can wear this outfit. K? Great. Glad that's settled.

Wake Forest Bag Tags

The Mission of Good Hope trip takes Wake Forest students to South Africa to perform service work and spread the good name of Wake Forest across the world. The crew going this May has come up with some really creative ways of fundraising their trip, including these awesome bag tags made by Meredith-Leigh Pleasants, a junior and the president of Kappa Delta sorority.

You can order a plethora of cute bag tags which will help you mark your luggage and spot it from far away at baggage claim, on this Google Form. Meredith-Leigh was kind enough to make a custom tag for Chic Deac readers. We love the design! For $8, this custom bag tag can be yours. Just think - you'll be doubly spreading the good name of Wake Forest by sporting school colors on your luggage and sending an awesome group to South Africa. Learn more on their Facebook Page!

Today's Giveaway: Emma Graham Designs

Thank God that some smart people have finally tapped into the market we've been blogging about since July! Emma Graham Designs has absolutely gorgeous clothes and a story that is quite fun. Two best friends from the Boston area, Emma Mahon and Jackie Graham, went to separate colleges (Babson College and University of South Carolina) and felt there was a niche in the fashion industry for college aged women who needed well-priced and well-made clothes. From tailgates to date functions to cocktail parties, we know EXACTLY what they're talking about. After graduating, they moved to NYC to start this new line.

They're coming to Wake on Monday, yes this upcoming Monday, to showcase some of their best looks in a Carolina Cup Trunk Show. We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Emma Graham to give away one of their dresses from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The giveaway will come later, but for now RSVP to the event on Facebook and stay tuned for more details.

Also - wanted to add a quick note that Emma Graham has a Wake Forest campus rep. Katie Estes can be reached at info@emmagrahamdesigns.com so get in touch if you want a private party or have more questions!

78 Degrees.

We repeat - 78 DEGREES. This weather should best be enjoyed on a fratio. In this outfit:

The 5th Quarter

We just got word that the official premiere is taking place tonight in Winston-Salem and they're looking for students to help greet guests, stars of the movie and the real life people who inspired them. Go to the Grand tonight at 7pm to be a part of the premiere!

For those of you wondering what the heck a fifth quarter is, check out this story on Sports Center about Wake Forest football player Jon Abbate and the struggles his family faced after the death of his younger brother Luke. Their loss was a direct inspiration for the legendary 2006 football season in which we went to the Orange Bowl and were ACC Champs. Believe it or not - Wake Forest Football is not just about sundresses and tailgates. This is what it means to be a Demon Deacon. Bring out the tissues.

If you can't attend the premiere tonight (or are too busy celebrating St. Patrick's Day) you can see the movie next week when it opens for play at the Grand and Carmike theaters.

Moxsie? We likey!

Twitter is helping us find some new cool things to blog about - like Moxsie.com and others which you will see forthcoming here surely!

For now, check out this cute 3/4 sleeve dress and rad necklace

Ditto

We couldn't have said it better.

And also, it makes sense to announce that we're now tweeting. Follow us! Please? We'd like to look cool. @ChicDeacStyle

Also, our friends at Wake Forest Campus Life asked if we would remind you to pick up your free Starbucks drink today or tomorrow. They are being given out at the Benson Vendor Tables (near Pugh) from 11am to 1pm.

Spring Lilly Dresses

Easter. Carolina Cup. Shag on the Mag. Who says you can't get multiple wears out of a spring Lilly dress? Girls at Wake Forest surely can. Here are two we're currently adoring.

Lela Shift Lace

Adelson Shift Jacquard
Good luck getting over your spring break slump this week, chic ones. We know it's going to be tough but hopefully these Lilly dresses will help ease your pain!

EDITED TO ADD:
Lilly just informed us that you can now rent their dresses on Rent the Runway. This is a heavenly revelation. Price? $40. Just make sure it isn't raining at cup otherwise they probably won't take back a mud splashed white lace dress.

Spring Break

Chic Deac will be on spring break for the next week. We hope your break has lots of warmth - whether that's sunshine or just time with family and friends. Don't forget to cheer on our boys in the ACC Tournament wherever you are - surely cruises and Caribbean ports will care enough about ACC basketball to have the games on. Check back on Monday, March 14th for new fashionable finds for the Wake Forest fan and some special dresses from LILLY!

Travel safe, chic ones!

Anthro Antilles Tank

Love this. The color is perfect for a Demon Deacon gal. Wear it with a blazer and nice pants for a more professional look or with some skinny jeans for a night out!

Oh So Cute

Doesn't this J.Crew vintage sequin tank look like it is super cozy? Most sequin items look stiff, but we could curl up in this shirt and a pair of jeans.

Vintage cotton sequin tank

Perhaps with a great striped cardi like this one from White House Black Market and a cute pair of flats for a Saturday afternoon shopping in Reynolda Village?

Happy strolling through Reynolda Village, chic ones!

This is Not a Test. Wake Forest China. We Repeat, This is Not a Test.

This is stop what you're dong, life changing news for Chic Deac.

Did you know that there is a Wake Forest College Wedgwood pattern? It's available in three colors: traditional Wedgwood blue, red, and mulberry and features buildings on old campus like Bostwick Hall. These are obviously collector's items and can be viewed at the Wake Forest Museum, but we are going to work our very hardest to find some through Replacements, Ltd.

The Boyfriend Blazer

Simple, chic and oh so easy for a night out. Pair this blazer with a white tank, some dark wash skinny jeans, nude heels and a statement necklace.
