An avid reader just informed us that tomorrow is National College Colors Day. How on earth did we miss this?? This is practically like Christmas for Chic Deac. We hope to see all of campus covered in shades of black and gold tomorrow. Wear a tee or a cute dress like one of the ones below, just make sure to wear your college colors. Then perhaps celebrate by attending the soccer game against Louisville taking place tomorrow night at 8pm in Spry Stadium.
This dress would be great for the class to soccer game transition. Just add sandals and a jean jacket to keep you warm once the sun goes down on the hill.
Just in case you forgot the lyrics over the summer and want to practice for next week's home game, you can play this during commercials of the Syracuse game tonight. From my understanding, if you have Time Warner Cable off campus you can watch tonight's game on channel 519. If you live on campus, you'll have to watch it on ESPN3.com. Either way, you should watch our team take on the Syracuse Orangemen in our season opener. Thanks to the unnamed male friend who filled us in on this info. Guys always know that kind of stuff.
GO DEACS! This will be us next week before we face State:
Thank God that some smart people have finally tapped into the market we've been blogging about since July! Emma Graham Designs has absolutely gorgeous clothes and a story that is quite fun. Two best friends from the Boston area, Emma Mahon and Jackie Graham, went to separate colleges (Babson College and University of South Carolina) and felt there was a niche in the fashion industry for college aged women who needed well-priced and well-made clothes. From tailgates to date functions to cocktail parties, we know EXACTLY what they're talking about. After graduating, they moved to NYC to start this new line.
They're coming to Wake on Monday, yes this upcoming Monday, to showcase some of their best looks in a Carolina Cup Trunk Show. We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Emma Graham to give away one of their dresses from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The giveaway will come later, but for now RSVP to the event on Facebook and stay tuned for more details.
Also - wanted to add a quick note that Emma Graham has a Wake Forest campus rep. Katie Estes can be reached at info@emmagrahamdesigns.com so get in touch if you want a private party or have more questions!
Miracles happen people. Say your prayers. Cross your fingers. Wear your pajamas inside out. We have faith - our boys could beat Roy and his crew tonight at Chapel Hill.
This blog was never intended to be a soapbox, but there are two issues at hand which we at Chic Deac feel the need to (briefly) address:
1. Senior Fifth It's never chic to be blackout, puking in the tailgate lot while trying to drunk dial your ex-boyfriend to see if he made it to his tailgate. Keep it classy, seniors.
2. We're Not Good Football last won a game against Duke. Basketball lost to Stetson (who??) on Friday night. We're aware that our major teams are not playing well. This is not the time to give up wearing your black and gold or attending games.
One of my friends on the football team once told me that the saddest part of a losing game isn't the actual loss. It's heading over to the student section to sing the alma mater with your peers and seeing that no one cared enough to stay for the end. So try showing your support because they're working hard. We're terrible fans if we can only be there to celebrate the wins. Support our teams and coaches.
We're loving this shimmery golden dress from Madewell (a J.Crew affiliate company, in case you didn't know). Paired with tights and a cute belt to cinch the waist, we think this is a great look for a nice dinner out. If you put it with the right sweater or jacket and some flats, you could even rock this look in class.
