Casual Chic: Ankle Booties and Boyfriend Jeans

Lately we've been thinking about how we can wear some cute boyfriend jeans without looking too slouchy. After perusing some celebrity fashion websites, the answer clearly seems to be a chic pair of ankle booties. Frugal Fashionista had this great post on how to get Keri Russel's look in the photo above. We decided to give it a Wake Forest twist that's a little less severe for walking around campus. Our only black detail is in the infinity scarf from J.Crew and the incredible leather tote - the rest is lighter in color. The gray booties are leather and expensive (over $300), but there are plenty of imitations in suede or faux suede that you could snatch up. By the way, mustard and gray seems to be all the rage these days and we're loving the way those colors look together in this outfit. Links to all of the items in our outfit can be found below.

We Likey

In honor of H&M opening at Hanes Mall and the craziness surrounding their opening, we'd like to show some of our favorite pieces from their current collection. WE ARE SO HAPPY. This is a long awaited Chic Deac dream - there is finally a reason to go to Hanes Mall.

Target Outfit of the Week

We're going to do a new weekly segment where we put together a cute stylish look from Target - just to prove that style does not have to come at a high price. Here is our first look - for that casual spring day heading to class.

Sustainable Outfit Choices

Is it possible to be stylish and sustainable at the same time? Chic Deac thinks so. Here are some adorable looks that we've found in our hunt for something "green" and chic.

This ruffle v-neck tee will be cozy, but still stylish enough to wear out on the weekend.

This classic cardigan looks like it's from J.Crew, but you can walk around proudly knowing it was made from 100% organic cotton.

This cowl neck seems like a great idea on chilly January days. Brrrr.

Pair any of these looks with some Joe Jeans from Revolve Clothing. These jeans are made of 98% organic cotton and will look outstanding any day of the week.

Happy sustaining, chic ones!

Drawstring Cardigan

This is a really cute long cardigan. We like how you can dress it up or wear it with leggings in ZSR during exams.

Happy shopping, chic ones!

Anthro Sale Alert

This amazing sweater we posted back in the summer (oh the days when Chic Deac was so young) and we've been eying it ever since. The sale price dropped to below $50, but there are limited sizes available. We're sure it's beautiful in black and white too. Check it out here.

First Day of Class Look

In honor of tomorrow being the first day of class, we decided to put together a cute look for you. It's time to impress those profs with your smarts and good fashion sense.

The foundation of the outfit is this white dress. From Dillard's it's only $30 and I think well worth your money. There are so many different ways to dress this one up that it can be used to look like many different outfits.

I'd top it with an unbuttoned yellow cardigan, like this one from Nordstrom's.

Finish the look off with a belt around the waist such as this one from DKNY.

Today is your last day to win the earrings. Enter to win by scrolling to the bottom of the blog and clicking "Follow." The winner will be selected tonight and announced tomorrow morning!

Chic Deac at the Office

In case you've got an important meeting or interview coming up in the near future, check out this outfit we've pulled for you. It's a great way to look pulled together while also showing your Wake Forest pride. The first item makes the outfit - this Whirl & Wind cardigan from Anthropologie has such perfect details. I'd wear it with a simple cami and the next item.

This skirt is from Ann Taylor Loft. Made of silk and cotton, this is a great skirt for summer or fall. It's $70 right now, but surely there will be a Loft sale somewhere near you in the near future.

To top it off, I'd get a simple black kitten heel like this Calvin Klein Diema Pump from Endless.com. If you haven't tried Endless yet, you need to! They ship OVERNIGHT for FREE. Returns are free too in case it hasn't worked out. One time, I ordered a pair of shoes from them at 7:00pm for a meeting the next morning. They were in my mail box at 8:00am. It was shoe magic.
