Rush 2012

As a reference point, we offer last year's wardrobe suggestions from the blog. Remember - having a personality is the most important part of the week and your clothes can do some of the talking for you!

This week is overwhelming for everyone involved, so take some time tonight to review the looks from Jason Wu's new Target collection. The collection goes on sale on February 5. We can't wait to see it all in person, but this first glance is satisfying for now. We are in love, particularly with this black and gold look:

Target Chic

We are loving these shawl collar fleece sweatshirts. They come in an assortment of colors (we like the heather gray and black best). They also look like they could be from J.Crew, but the $18 price proves that they are indeed from Target. This is exactly what we were referring to last week when we said it's possible to be chic while studying. Paired with skinny jeans, boots and a cozy scarf, you are set for a long night in the libs.

Staying Chic in the Rain

Okay, so we know that this gal looks impossibly chic in her trench coat because she has this cool laid back (but probably took an hour) top bun, stunning heels and a sunny day. Meanwhile, we are working with a steady rainfall, humidity and puddles the size of the Crowne pools. However, trenches can still be a great style statement on a rainy day like today. Think about grabbing one if you haven't already done so - they can really spiff up those rain boots you're walking around in. We've always dreamed of a Burberry trench, but if you can't afford one, how about this alternative from Target? Still stylish, but only about $1350 cheaper.

For Gray Days

We highly recommend bright, yellow rain boots. You can show school spirit and brighten up an otherwise gloomy day. Here are some Hunters and some other (less expensive, but still very cute) options if you are interested:

Dreaming of Spring Break

Wondering what to wear for that cruise or Mexican vaca you've been dreaming of since January? We found a cute selection of bathing suits we think you'll love to wear.

For girly flare, check out this American Eagle ruffle bikini.

From Anthro - a one piece that will emphasize your cute waist and give you an irresistible retro vibe.

And a bikini for the bronze goddess looking to really get a tan. The gold buckle spices up the bandeau top for a very cute look.

What would these looks be without a big ole floppy hat that lets everyone on the beach or ship deck know how fabulous you are? This would be preferably worn with large Jackie O sunglasses to really round out the look.

Target Outfit of the Week

We're going to do a new weekly segment where we put together a cute stylish look from Target - just to prove that style does not have to come at a high price. Here is our first look - for that casual spring day heading to class.

Cute Satin Tops

This is great for your internship or for grabbing a drink with some friends (at a place classier than some fraternity basement, please). At only $23, it's a steal! Check it out at Target.

We love this top from Gap. At $18, you can't beat this cute black look - it's simple and classic. Check it out here!

Lastly, check out this blonde double layer blouse also from the Gap. Again, it's another under $20 look!

Happy shopping, chic ones!

Cheap Chic

It's family weekend! You know what that means ... a free and delicious dinner. What to wear though? Have no fear, because Chic Deac, as always, has pulled through. We found a lovely sweater dress from Target for under $30.

The ruffles on this dress make it look much more flattering and it would fit most (if not all) body types beautifully. Chic Deac just had a conversation this week about the wrap dress - its effortless and yet always makes women look their best.

Have a happy Friday and GO DEACS!

Chic Deac Bedroom Set

The best thing about the summer before college is the chance to pick out all of the fun accessories for your room. There are one million cute things in all of the stores at this time of the year. I will be posting some stylish sample rooms throughout the next few weeks, along with my tips for a successful start to your time at Wake Forest. Here's my personal belief on where to spend your money in prepping for your new home.

You will have lots of late nights in college (whether it be out with friends or in the library) and getting good sleep is so important. Invest in great bedding and the accessories can be on the cheaper side. Your taste will change throughout the next few years, so make sure the investment pieces are classic. Accessories can always be swapped out. I adore this duvet cover from Pottery Barn. The yellow marigold design makes the bed feel bright and fresh. You want your room to convey a positive feeling every time you walk in - and this will certainly do the trick.

For the black accessories, I've pulled simple black frames and a black/white memo board from Bed, Bath & Beyond. The black frames would look so sleek with some black & white prints. Take your favorite prom picture, shot of your dog, etc. and print it out for a few cents at your local photo shop.
The memo board from BB&B would be wonderful to have up on your wall (although keep in mind you won't be able to use the hanging system). Bring tons of Scotch 3M wall hanging tape and you'll be covered. I used that stuff to hang some really heavy things and it never left a mark on the walls!

Being creative with your storage is key when you are maximizing space in your room. These bins will be great for shoes, purses, school books, snacks, etc. These bins from Target add a cute yellow accent to match the bedspread.

Lastly, low-lighting is an important purchase you should make. Fluorescent lights are not my thing. If you'd like some softer lighting in your room, you should look into a lamp like this one from Target - for only $17!
Happy shopping!
