Staying Chic and Warm

How can you stay chic and warm this Saturday? Here's one look we've been thinking about trying: a chic wool cape. Lots of celebs have been spotted and we think it could be great paired with some skinny jeans, boots and a fab bright scarf.

So we had to try and find our own cape. We turned to Polyvore, one of our favorite online fashion tools. Essentially, it's the e-version of paper dolls with clothes that you can actually buy online.

Check out our set to see where you can buy each of these pieces. Go Deacs, Beat ND!

Moving on from a Sad Loss

Being beat by Carolina is never good, but being beat by such a large margin has made moving on extra painful. We're looking forward to this weekend's match up against Notre Dame and are obviously brainstorming some cold weather outfits for our chic readers. Stay tuned throughout the week, chic ones!

Jackie O Chic

This dip in temperature has Chic Deac searching for a cute winter coat. Anthropologie, as usual, has several adorbale options but we particularly are loving the Ascot Swing jacket below. It's chic, timeless and reminds us of our favorite style icon, Jackie O. Pair these with skinny jeans, ballet flats and some chic big sunglasses for the full effect.

Staying Chic in the Rain

Okay, so we know that this gal looks impossibly chic in her trench coat because she has this cool laid back (but probably took an hour) top bun, stunning heels and a sunny day. Meanwhile, we are working with a steady rainfall, humidity and puddles the size of the Crowne pools. However, trenches can still be a great style statement on a rainy day like today. Think about grabbing one if you haven't already done so - they can really spiff up those rain boots you're walking around in. We've always dreamed of a Burberry trench, but if you can't afford one, how about this alternative from Target? Still stylish, but only about $1350 cheaper.

For Your Friend who is Always Cold ...

We are loving this modern take on the opera coat. The opera coat is a classic, but can only be reserved for the most special of events. This version will suit you during the day, at work, on your way to class or in the evening on a fun date. The two gold buttons are just a perfect touch. Plus, it's only $50 from Fred Flare!

There's nothing like a bright, cheery mug that will keep your hot tea warm on a day like this. Besides, the colors make it the perfect Wake Forest mug!

Nothing finishes off a cute look like a vintage scarf. We are loving this Diane Von Furstenberg one available on Etsy for only $25.

Happy studying, chic ones!

Stay Warm and Beat BC

The season, believe it or not, is actually redeemable. If the Deacs get a win on Saturday, they can still work hard towards a bowl game. Is it far off? Absolutely. Should we be there, even in the cold, to help see them through a tough season? Absolutely.

It's looking like tomorrow's high is 50 degrees. That isn't very high. So how do you dress for a chilly afternoon game and tailgate? It's easy. Put on some cute jeans, your favorite pair of boots, a black sweater and one of these gorgeous outerwear pieces. Don't forget the sunglasses. They add a touch of fabulous!

First up is a $120 coat from Steve Madden's line for Macy's. This is a very sweet look and we love the toggle buttons.

Second in our list of stylish assortment of coats is this ruffled piece from Old Navy. All outerwear is 50% off at Old Navy this week only (or so the manikins told me in the 15050984 commercials they play a day).

Anthro, as always, can be counted on to have some gorgeous old gold pieces. We love the details around the waist on this "Alice in Autumn" sweatercoat. You might need an extra layer to keep you warm enough, though!

Lastly, this Harvested Honey coat from Anthro has a vintage look that is quite timeless. It's certainly up there in cost at $498, but one can dream, right?

Happy shopping, chic ones! We need to cheer on those football boys. Nothing will brighten up their season like a full student section filled with black and gold!

Rain, Rain Go Away

You can still show your love for Mother, So Dear in this yellow anorak jacket. From ABS, you can get it on Bluefly for $150.

Whew, Homecoming Weekend wore us out over here at Chic Deac, but don't worry we aren't slowing down because things are getting juicy over at Monkee's in Reynolda Village. Check out this lovely Juicy Couture black leather bomber jacket. It's 20% off for Chic Deac readers this week, so stop in and take a peek!

The First Day of Class and it's Raining ...

I warned you back in July about rainy days at Wake Forest. I hope you took my advice and picked up some rainboots this summer. If you didn't, Target on University and over at Hanes Mall have plenty. Check out our post on rainy days here.

If you're looking for a cute rain coat, look no further. This fantastic trench is a London Fog design from Macy's. The buckles and buttons are my favorite part of this trench. The belted waist will make you look itty-bitty - it's a universally flattering form. Check it out here for $100.

If you aren't up for the leopard heels like the model wearing the coat, some cute bright rainboots might do the trick. Both pairs, from Endless, could arrive in your mailbox by tomorrow morning. They offer free overnight shipping and it's worked perfectly for me every time I've used it. I like the plain yellow ones, but the polka dots add an extra fun touch. The polka dots are $45 and can be found here.
The yellow boots below are $70, but I love the buckle detail. Check them out here.

Lastly, here are two other accessories that would top off your rainy day look. A blanket and a Wake Forest mug filled with some hot tea will be the perfect accessories for your afternoon nap.
