Cheap Chic for President's Ball

Trying to avoid paying lots of money for a new dress? How about you head over to Hanes Mall and pay a little visit to our friend Forever 21, who can always be counted on for cute dresses at a low cost. We like both of these, which are simple and elegant. Plus, they beg to be accessorized with some amazing gold jewelry. Best part? They're both under $30.

Staying Chic in the Rain

Okay, so we know that this gal looks impossibly chic in her trench coat because she has this cool laid back (but probably took an hour) top bun, stunning heels and a sunny day. Meanwhile, we are working with a steady rainfall, humidity and puddles the size of the Crowne pools. However, trenches can still be a great style statement on a rainy day like today. Think about grabbing one if you haven't already done so - they can really spiff up those rain boots you're walking around in. We've always dreamed of a Burberry trench, but if you can't afford one, how about this alternative from Target? Still stylish, but only about $1350 cheaper.

French Summer Stripes

It's really starting to warm up out there, so we found a cool and casual look for you to rock this summer. We were in the mood for stripes because we'd like to be cooling off in the South of France, but we're sitting in America. Sigh. Anyways, we hope this dress makes your summer day feel cooler. The entire look is just about $50!

Cheap Chic

It's family weekend! You know what that means ... a free and delicious dinner. What to wear though? Have no fear, because Chic Deac, as always, has pulled through. We found a lovely sweater dress from Target for under $30.

The ruffles on this dress make it look much more flattering and it would fit most (if not all) body types beautifully. Chic Deac just had a conversation this week about the wrap dress - its effortless and yet always makes women look their best.

Have a happy Friday and GO DEACS!

Cheap Chic Friday

Cheap Chic Friday is back again, just in time for the Duke game this weekend. Francesca's is a store in the Thruway Shopping Center - they have a wide array of dresses, but we are particularly liking this $20 dress. The flowers add a nice touch and so does the crochet detail (just make sure you're wearing enough sunscreen so that doesn't become the world's weirdest tan line). Buy the dress here or at the store in person!

The cotton will keep you nice and cool. Game day weather is looking good, so enjoy your tailgate and all four quarters!

TODAY IS THE DAY - It's Time for the Real Deal

Ahhh, Football is finally here! Check out the Journal's article on our readiness as a team to take the field tonight. As the article says, it's time for the real deal and we couldn't agree more. We want to see this team take the field and surge past any expectations for their season. And in the spirit of real deals, we're going to have Cheap Chic Friday one day early.

It's definitely going to be a hot one, and I hear that Athletics will be handing out free water bottles to make sure we're comfy and hydrated for the duration of the game. Here are some last minute (under $20!) deals on tailgate outfits:

The first dress is from Roxy. I actually really love the fact that this can be a halter or a strapless dress. Think strapless when you're in the sun so that you avoid the tan lines, that pull up the straps for a different look if you go out after the game. It has a small polka dot pattern, but nothing that overwhelms your shape. Check it out here for $20.

Secondly, here is a dress from Alloy that has some cute gold detailing on top. The cotton fabric will keep you cool tonight! Look at it here, again for less than $20.

We have another dress from Alloy. This shape is flattering to many different body types and this can be personalized with a variety of gold accessories. Click here to see it on the Alloy website!

Lastly, this might be the most coveted accessory in the stadium tonight.

GO DEACS! Make us proud!

Cheap Chic Friday

Check out this dress from Forever 21, for only $25. The spaghetti straps make it summery, but the neckline isn't too revealing. The waist emphasizes the tiniest part of a woman's body, so this is a very flattering look. It's perfect for a summer evening!

Cheap Chic Friday

Today's under $30 outfit is perfect for all of the orientation events going on or the Hitchcock movie out on the lawn of Reynolda House tonight.

Check out this adorable skirt from Forever 21. The black embroidery on the skirt is great and the yellow tank below from Nordstrom's brightens up the look.

Remember that $30 gets you further than you think. Also, enter our weekly giveaway for these earrings!

Cheap Chic Friday

I am loving this outfit for several reasons, but mainly because the entire thing costs less than $25. The shirt, from Lord & Taylor, costs $15. The applique trim creates enough of a statement that you wouldn't need to wear any big jewelry with this outfit.

These shorts, from Talbot's, are less than $10. Yes, less than $10. Really, truly less than $10. Talbot's isn't just your grandmother's shop anymore. Michelle Obama wears things from there and you can too. There are some older pieces, but these shorts are not one of them. These are the kind of shorts you can wear on a summer evening (or to an orientation event) and look stylish, while still feeling comfortable. They are available in all sizes and multiple colors, but yellow is obviously our fave.

Remember to enter the wine glasses drawing. There are no strings attached, just some beautiful Wake Forest wine glasses custom painted for you. Enter by clicking here!

So let's do the math here. For $25 dollars, you could get a shirt from Lord & Taylor, shorts from Talbot's and two free wine glasses from "The Cute Glass." That sounds like quite a deal to us here at Chic Deac. Remember to send us your thoughts and suggestions at chicdeacstyle@gmail.com!

Cheap Chic Friday is Back Again

Alright - today we have four great Cheap Chic options. The first is a Mossimo ruffled blouse from Target. I personally purchased this the other day and LOVE it. I received quite a few compliments on it already. The shirt looks much more expensive than $20. It is great with a pair of skinny jeans and heels for a night out, or tucked into a pencil skirt for a cocktail party.

Secondly, we have a dress from Forever 21. I adore cap sleeve dresses (very flattering for the arms). In my opinion, this must be paired with flat sandals. The dress is cute, but short. So don't go over the top with heels. Check it out here for $19.

Next, there is this adorable dress from Macy's that is just perfect for tailgates. The crochet lace detail on the bodice is incredible, but not nearly as incredible of it's price of $15!

Lastly, there is this very cute yellow sundress from Dillard's. It's only available in size 7 (thus the super low price), but this is a great steal if you're a size 7. You'd look like you spent a lot more than the $18 it actually cost!

Happy shopping! Come back Monday for our edition on male tailgate wear. It's going to be good!
