Good news, y'all: Chic Deac is alive and well. Just had to take a mental break from posting while taking an actual break from Wake Forest. But we are back! 

The first day of class is here and we're already looking for a craft project that will distract us from the mounds of homework that will surely pile up over the next few weeks. We found this adorable DIY lacy gold chain necklace on Pinterest and we are eager to try and replicate it. Who doesn't need a fabulous statement necklace on a budget?

Chic Deac loves a good bow - there's nothing more endearing and whimsical in our opinion - but sometimes it's hard to rock a bow and look your age. A Little Luck for '11

The Class of 2011 graduated this morning and we can't help but feel sad at the thought that they're leaving Wake Forest. We hope they do amazing things in the world and that they always proudly claim Mother, So Dear as their alma mater. We wish them luck in all that they do - so a little horseshoe necklace in honor of their new post-grad experiences. 

Graduation Gift Ideas

Parents, family and friends of Class of 2011 grads - check out some of Chic Deac's gift ideas for graduation. Graduation is such a bittersweet time, but you can make it all the sweeter with some great gifts that will help the new alums keep Wake Forest in their hearts forever.

Reynolda Film Festival

Chic Deac is going to this year's Reynolda Film Festival. Are you? We're definitely going to see Jason Reitman (director of Juno and Thank You for Smoking) in Wait Chapel on Saturday night and we'll probably be seeking refuge from this rainy weather by checking out some of the other films in the lineup. So what to wear for the RFF? We think keeping it dressy casual will help you stand out ... wearing a regular ole outfit will just be boring. This is the closest Wake Forest gets to a Hollywood red carpet, after all. Our pick for a Reynolda Film Festival look is above. Obsession best describes our feelings towards that bracelet.

Thanks to Etsy, we have lots of options when we go searching for our next pair of black and gold earrings. Check out some of our finds below.

These earrings are simple, but very pretty. The shimmery black spinel briolettes are wire wrapped and hung on 14k gold filled wire. They're available for only $24 on Etsy!

These earrings are quite classy if you ask us. The Vintage Romance Bridal earrings have real Swarovski crystals and teardrop pearls - making them a true steal at only $26 on Etsy. 

 

These Lacy Gold Filigree earrings are so delicate looking. We love them for a variety of looks. They dangle but aren't too heavy for those of you who don't like big earrings. Again, these earrings are only $24!
