Apparently ...

The Deacon makes guest appearances at weddings. After blogging about people wearing black and gold for nearly a year now in a pretty dedicated fashion (minus exam periods which simply do not count) we would hope that he appears at ours too. We think he owes us.

Elizabeth Taylor: Style Icon

We were sad to learn of the death of actress and style icon Elizabeth Taylor this morning. Let her classic looks inspire you throughout the day, chic ones.

Stylish Lace Dress

We love this dress from the Outnet. Try it with a skinny gold belt and strappy gold sandals for a chic look.

Lace-print silk-blend dress by Tibi

We like this skinny gold belt from Urban Outfitters and like the $20 price even better!

Zara Flouncy Dress

For all of you chic ones who loved shopping at Zara while you were abroad - here's one of their latest dresses. We think the shape is very cute and love that belt!

Match it with this calfskin bag for a super chic look:
P.S. - Let it be known, JTT may not have made the shot to win it last night, but he was pretty darn close. Chic Deac was proud of those boys and saw a lot of maturity in the way we played last night. We're not saying it will turn around this season, but we have reason to hope for the future!

P.S.S. - Chic Deac was not pleased with the student section turnout. PATHETIC. We're capable of doing better.

Soapbox

This blog was never intended to be a soapbox, but there are two issues at hand which we at Chic Deac feel the need to (briefly) address:

1. Senior Fifth
It's never chic to be blackout, puking in the tailgate lot while trying to drunk dial your ex-boyfriend to see if he made it to his tailgate. Keep it classy, seniors.

2. We're Not Good
Football last won a game against Duke. Basketball lost to Stetson (who??) on Friday night. We're aware that our major teams are not playing well. This is not the time to give up wearing your black and gold or attending games.

One of my friends on the football team once told me that the saddest part of a losing game isn't the actual loss. It's heading over to the student section to sing the alma mater with your peers and seeing that no one cared enough to stay for the end. So try showing your support because they're working hard. We're terrible fans if we can only be there to celebrate the wins. Support our teams and coaches.

Stepping off the soapbox now ...

Thursdays at Rebecca & Co.

Chic ones, you must stop by Rebecca & Co. on Reynolda Road if you are interested in getting yourself a fab pair of boots this fall. The over the knee Intyre boots are 20% off for Chic Deac readers through next Thursday. You don't want to miss out on this discount. Originally $240, the price falls to $192 with the reader discount.

Don't miss out (on this or all of the other cute things they have in stock)!

Wake Forest Travel Mug and Coozie

This is a really cute pattern that allows you to stylishly wear the famous WF logo. The coozie is cute, but we really love the travel mug. Seems like a good stocking stuffer if you ask me!

Happy sipping, chic ones!

A Bright Monday Morning

Hopefully this bright and chic yellow blouse will brighten up your Monday morning blues. The Ikebana blouse has a gorgeous print and will surely stand out in any crowd. We especially love the small beaded detail along the smocked waist line. Check it out here for $80.

Happy Monday, chic ones!

Stay Warm and Beat BC

The season, believe it or not, is actually redeemable. If the Deacs get a win on Saturday, they can still work hard towards a bowl game. Is it far off? Absolutely. Should we be there, even in the cold, to help see them through a tough season? Absolutely.

It's looking like tomorrow's high is 50 degrees. That isn't very high. So how do you dress for a chilly afternoon game and tailgate? It's easy. Put on some cute jeans, your favorite pair of boots, a black sweater and one of these gorgeous outerwear pieces. Don't forget the sunglasses. They add a touch of fabulous!

First up is a $120 coat from Steve Madden's line for Macy's. This is a very sweet look and we love the toggle buttons.

Second in our list of stylish assortment of coats is this ruffled piece from Old Navy. All outerwear is 50% off at Old Navy this week only (or so the manikins told me in the 15050984 commercials they play a day).

Anthro, as always, can be counted on to have some gorgeous old gold pieces. We love the details around the waist on this "Alice in Autumn" sweatercoat. You might need an extra layer to keep you warm enough, though!

Lastly, this Harvested Honey coat from Anthro has a vintage look that is quite timeless. It's certainly up there in cost at $498, but one can dream, right?

Happy shopping, chic ones! We need to cheer on those football boys. Nothing will brighten up their season like a full student section filled with black and gold!

Chic Phones

Is your phone just a boring black or silver? Apparently you can dress up a whole assortment of phone styles with Deac phone cases. They aren't stickers so they aren't going to fall off after a few months of using it. The prices for custom cases are fairly reasonable (around $30, or less, depending on what you want). It's an easy and fun way to display your pride on a daily basis. Click here for more information!

Remember to take the time to send in your tailgate pictures before the end of the day! Chicdeacstyle@gmail.com

For Your Next Rave?

Just in case you're headed to a rave any time soon (Love Parade for you Deacs abroad?) or need a good laugh on this Wednesday morning:

This may look like a regular shirt, but it is actually a light up Demon Deacon shirt. No joke. It lights up. They have the WF symbol and the Deacon head, which is our personal fave. We found this through a Facebook ad and apparently, for some reason unknown to the gods of fashion, it is on sale for $20. How they haven't sold out yet, we aren't quite sure.

The picture obviously doesn't do it justice, but visit the website to see the flash version of the light up shirt.

Welcome to Chic Deac!

Don't know what to wear to tailgates this fall? Chic Deac is here to give you some outfit inspiration. It's always been fun to be a Wake Forest fan, but now it's fashionable too!

Check out this first look. At $89.50, this dress from Macy's is a steal. It is the type of dress that you can wear for four seasons of tailgating. It's cute, black and basic. No one will know it's a repeat outfit if you dress it up with different accessories each time.

For this look, there is a perfect J.Crew ring that was destined for the hand of a Wake Forest gal. It's $55.00, but if that is out of your price range, there are bound to be some beautiful imitations of it around.

The first game this season is a Thursday night game. Evening is the perfect tailgate weather - warm enough to wear your sundress, but not so warm that you get burned. However, you should definitely tote a cute summer scarf around in case that evening chill gets to you during the 4th Quarter. I am loving this one from Old Navy - on sale this week for $5.97!

Start shopping for those tailgate outfits now, because the first game will be here before you know it!
