A few readers asked us for some ideas for homecoming dresses this weekend, and obviously, we're not talking about the kind you wore in high school. Homecoming dresses at Wake come in two forms: the casual wear with boots at the tailgate kind and the wear to the fraternity formal kind. Since our requests weren't very specific, we'll offer a few options.
We really like this Puella dress from Bluefly.com because it's got lots of color and a fun print, but you still get the overall black and gold scheme. The long sleeves will keep you warm in the fall weather, but the ruffled v-neck cut will still let you show some skin.
This Tommy Hilfiger cowl neck dress from Macy's is beautiful. It's a sweater dress, but it's cut well enough so that it doesn't look chunky on the body. Pair it with a belt and boots just like the Macy's stylist did in this picture and you're set for a fun day of tailgating.
Now for the dances that take place after the game, you might want to think about something with sheen like this walnut cocktail dress from Forever21. The low price makes it affordable for a last minute purchase and you won't cry if someone spills a beer on your dress. This is the kind of dress that needs to be dressed up with the right accessories, so don't forget to add some!
Lastly, we love this "Tea for Two" cocktail dress from Nordstom's. It looks like someone pulled it right out of Blair Waldorf's closet and we're quite happy if we can pull off a night looking like her.
But, obviously, no Blair Waldorf look is complete without a headband. We couldn't forget that, so check out this one on Etsy.
Happy Homecoming, chic ones!

This amazing sweater we posted back in the summer (oh the days when Chic Deac was so young) and we've been eying it ever since. The sale price dropped to below $50, but there are limited sizes available. We're sure it's beautiful in black and white too. Check it out here.

Brrr
The leaves haven't even really changed color yet here on campus, yet somehow winter arrived. Okay, maybe we're exaggerating a little bit, but it is really cold outside all of a sudden!
We love these two infinity scarves and think the chunky one would keep us especially cozy on a day like today.

Buy the chunky one or the lighter one here on Etsy.

Dapper Duds Winners
We had a lot of fun entries for the Dapper Duds contest, but it had to be narrowed down to three winners. Here are the lucky three:
Jennifer Johnson submitted this picture just a little bit late for the Date Night Dress for the Southern Frock contest, but we decided to put her in for the ties. Why? Well it looks like she's got the black and gold look down, but her date is in an ugly Carolina blue shirt!
Meaghan Kiernan, a WFU alum from the Class of 2009, submitted a picture of her with her dad and brother. She has won another black and gold tie with this look. And we love her dress!
Lastly, we love this wedding picture from Justin and Amy Walters. Not only was their wedding day at Wake Forest, but they really went all out with the colors. We love it!
Congrats to the three winners and keep an eye out for our next contest!

Cheap Chic
It's family weekend! You know what that means ... a free and delicious dinner. What to wear though? Have no fear, because Chic Deac, as always, has pulled through. We found a lovely sweater dress from Target for under $30.
The ruffles on this dress make it look much more flattering and it would fit most (if not all) body types beautifully. Chic Deac just had a conversation this week about the wrap dress - its effortless and yet always makes women look their best.
Have a happy Friday and GO DEACS!
